Introduction
Welcome to the 19th iteration of our Community Blog. Since the last development blog, the long-awaited Beta Phase 2 happened and the Development Team cranked up their productivity to 200%, reworking half of the server's features while also creating new ones. In this community blog, we will showcase some of those new features, shower the staff team in praise, and share the Beta Phase 2 experiences from some of our amazing community members.

Thanking the Staff Team
I wanted to express our appreciation and gratitude to each and every one of you for the tremendous effort everyone has put into this project. Since our inception in September of 2017, we have struggled to build and sustain a strong team to keep our project moving. So many talented individuals have joined our project, just to check out our features. They were met with a great amount of shock - Our requirements for commitment and passion are set very high. We have put a lot of effort into ensuring that a position meant purpose. Having a purpose means that you can have an impact on our team and project. You are there to fill a gap that someone else couldn’t. So many faces have come and gone within our team - It’s been such a precarious adventure.

To those who have stuck around, to those who stayed during our beta phase, to those who dedicated hundreds of hours to testing, to those who picked up what was dropped, to those who built this community as if it was their own, I humbly thank you. I cannot begin to show my appreciation for the effort, detail, and commitment that individuals have provided. I have been lucky enough to work with so many extraordinary industry professionals and I have been able to learn so much from my team. Without all the team of ours now and before, we would not be where we are today. I cannot begin to possibly show the amount of thankfulness that is required for these individuals. So truly, from my bottom of mine and Jorge’s heart, thank you, everyone, for the dedication and commitment.

Team Applications
Whilst we are still in the development stage of Mafia City, the Tester Team is one of the most crucial elements for ensuring a successful launch. However, Testers will play an even bigger role post-launch, as they will be the first line of support for players as well as being the individuals who will make sure that every new feature is as bug-free as possible before it is released to the public. We are always looking for new testers, so check out the link here if this is something that interests you.

If you are more the creative type, then Media Team would be the place for you. We are always looking for graphic designers and video editors to improve Mafia City with amazing graphics and professional cinematics. If you think you might not be good enough, please reach out anyway! Each applicant is given a 1-week assignment to showcase your abilities. What happened?
Beta Phase 2 was a great experience from the staff team’s perspective, there were quite a few bugs that were found with help from our amazing community. We’re very grateful to everyone who participated in Beta Phase 2 and hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Beta Phase 2 Experiences
"I've been here for over a year and going into Beta Phase 2 was the most invigorating experience I've had the pleasure of partaking in. We've all worked very hard to make this possible, gone to unreal extents to put in the effort to get this project to where it is today and it was deeply satisfying to not only go into Beta Phase 2 but to hear all of the positive feedback from the community. We have a lot of features to offer with more to come and I hope to see that we continue to instill the community with Shock and Awe as time progresses.
This phase was also very interesting, as even though most of the time I was riding around on a bicycle and creating odd situations to encourage roleplay, there was always some way to have fun and enjoy my interactions with those in the community. The hopes and dreams of this community that started the day I walked into this team continue to grow and shine every day.
During Beta Phase 2 our entire team absolutely amazed me with everything that was being prepared and tasks being carried out, the dynamic of our team plays a huge part in this."

"The excitement for MCRP's release has been around well before I came on the scene and seeing that I missed not only BP1 but also BP2 was a sad experience for me. Then one Sunday morning I woke up and was laying in bed looking at my phone and saw an announcement saying that the Beta Phase 2 would open to the public for the last day. I logged on as soon as I could and spent the entire day running around the server. I have to say the culture and social aspects of the server were quite pleasant. I even had a street race with someone that ended early because of a random spike strip in the middle of the road (may have been left from a police chase that happened earlier that day). I am ready to get my RP on and look forward to meeting new people!"

"Server performance was great. The only issue with it was VOIP. RP was great, mod shop was a little buggy. A lot of the bugs experienced during BP2 were managed quickly. It was nice to have an active mod team that pays attention to the needs of their player base."

We appreciate everyone that participated!
While the player count was lower than expected, we still have been able to receive a lot of feedback and bug reports from everyone that was a part of Beta Phase 2. We appreciate everyone that took the time to log onto the server and try out the features it has to offer.
Since the start of Beta Phase 2, our Development Team has been working hard on ironing out bugs, improving features and adding new content to the server. You can find a showcase of some new and improved features below. We hope you are as excited for the release as we are!

Updated Interaction Menu
Since Beta Phase 2 we’ve changed up our interaction menu. It’s still accessible by pressing B, but instead of a layout similar to GTA Online's interaction menu that was present during BP2, it’s now more like the animation wheel everyone has grown to love. Navigating through the interaction menu is now easier than before.

By interacting with the icons on the interaction menu, you can easily access menus like Support, My Vehicles, Management, Clothing Menu, Player Menu, and the Weapon Menu

New Inventory System
The inventory system has also received a complete overhaul. Instead of clicking on the items to either use or drop them, you can now just drag and drop them in and out of your inventory. Using an item is possible by simply clicking the right mouse button.

Previously, the interaction menu had to be opened to pick up any items on the ground. This now can be done within the inventory menu itself.

Reworked MDC
We've recently taken the time to completely refactor our group's MDC. Previously, it was a system that was completely in-game and had limited clunky functionality. Our MDC now works out-of-game as well. We're actively working towards adding additional out-of-game interactions such as radio and a live map that dispatches can use in a standard browser!

The new in-game experience overall is much cleaner and smoother. A dynamic permission system has been added so new groups can be given access as well. Group Leaders will be required to manage the users that are able to access the MDC. Check out the gif before.

Repair Kits and Jerry Cans
There will be situations where your vehicle either runs out of fuel or just completely stops working.
Instead of being stranded out in the middle of nowhere, you will be able to use repair kits and jerry cans to get your vehicle running again.
Be aware that repairing your car with a repair kit won't make it drive and look like it's brand new. So make sure to visit a mod shop at your earliest convenience.

Repair Kits and Jerry Cans are available to purchase at general stores alongside many other items.
